Shrink

Privacy Policy

Effective 3 October 2026.

Shrink collects no data. Compression runs on your iPhone. There is nothing to log into, and there are no servers of ours for anything to be sent to. This page says exactly where your files can go.

No accounts, no servers, no tracking

There is no sign-up, no login and no account. We run no backend for this app. There is no analytics SDK, no crash reporter, no advertising identifier and no tracking of any kind. Nothing you compress reaches the developer.

Your files

When you pick a PDF or a photo, or share one to Shrink, the app reads it and makes a smaller copy in its own container on your device. The original is not changed. The copy stays in the app until you delete it.

Where files can go

Nowhere, unless you share them. Compression is done on your iPhone with Apple’s frameworks and qpdf, which ships inside the app. The app makes no network request at all. A compressed copy leaves your iPhone only when you share it yourself, to the app or person you choose.

Photo metadata

A compressed photo is written without its metadata: location, camera and date details are removed from the copy.

Permissions

Shrink asks for no permissions. The file and photo pickers are run by iOS, and the app sees only the files you pick.

Children

Shrink is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone.

Deleting everything

Delete a file in the app, or use Settings, Delete All Files. Delete the app to remove all of it. Nothing of yours is left anywhere else, because nothing was sent anywhere else.

Changes

If this policy changes, the effective date above changes with it.
